DBS is a multinational banking and financial services corporation that provide services in consumer, SME and corporate banking activities across Asia and the Middle East.
My role
I was part of the insurance team under Consumer Banking Group. My role was to support business in launching new insurance products on all digital channels and identifying ways to increase customers base within the bank.
DBS works with different partners to offer new insurance products. These products can be offered in different channels - online (website, internet banking and mobile banking) and offline (through customer relationship managers).  I worked with business, researchers and copywriters to design the journeys for these products on all the different channels, making sure it is not just easy for people to purchase but also to understand.

While most of the products are available on public website, they were not available on their mobile app and internet banking. I designed a new insurance shelf page for these channels and brought all available products online, including products that were only available offline. This meant that all insurance products are now available to all user when they login to internet/mobile bank.

Apart from having a delicate space for insurance products, various ways were identified to increase our customer base. The first way was to embed relevant insurance products into the journey of other services. These occurs either at the end, or during the service journey.

For example, a user who is remitting money will see a hospital insurance product at the end of the remittance journey. Another user who is paying bills can opt in for an insurance product along the way and pay together.

Another identified way was to personalise insurance. Most of the users do not have any insurance with the bank. As a result, they see nothing on their insurance profile at the landing page.

The previous design was a generic one that work the same for these group of users . However, we have information of what insurance they are eligible for, and what insurance they might need based on their profile. Thus, we decided to suggest different products based on individuals and to rotate the product suggestions.
