About

SLIDE is a social-personal financial mobile application that enable instant and easy payments. It is a virtual wallet where you can send money, top up any mobile number and pay bills instantly.

My Role

I was tasked to redesign the entire mobile application and improve the experiences for existing features and to also include new features (eCommerce group-buy, salary crediting and loans)

The major problem with the old app was it was not design to scale. With opportunities and new features identified, a redesign was necessary. There were also obvious pain points from ground feedback and customer support. I spent time studying competitors and analysing their journey flows.

I set two outcomes for the redesign. The first is to make sure there are improvements for existing features. The second is the design must be able to scale and include any new features in the future easily.

Redesigning the app

Apart from the obvious UI change, improvements were made for existing key features (money remittance, money transfer and paying bills). The home page also accounts a little personalisation, based on user's profile and activity. New features were also added.

New features:
1. Bank and micro loan for business and investments for individuals
2. Salary crediting from an employer to employee
3. Flash deals, a groupbuy eCommerce space aimed at bulk purchases to reduce price

With the new design, it now accounts for scalability without the need to break any existing structure.
